My First Blog

One thing I've enjoyed learning this year is genetics, which is what were doing now. We did a lot of stuff with genetics but I liked making our pets the best. First we had to make a male or female pet, then we had to partner up with someone else and make six offspring. We had to make our offspring based on the dominate and recessive alleles. We also had to make punnet squares to show the traits of our parent pets. Making the punnet square was somewhat difficult for me but then I got it. I also liked doing the bubble gum experiment where we had to blow a bubble with several different pieces of gum and measure it. I liked being able to chew gum in class and blow huge bubbles. Plus it tasted great!
